Education
Andrea received her Bachelor of Science in Childhood Education, with a concentration in Social Studies from SUNY Oswego in the winter of 2016. Following graduation, she went on to obtain 200 hours of yoga teacher training in Nyack, New York. In 2022, Andrea received another 200 hours of yoga training in Dallas, Texas.
Experience
Beginning her career as a Literacy Assistant, and later stepping into the managerial role, this experience gave her a foundational skillset of teaching children to read, as well as working with families to support students with learning differences, including dyslexia and processing disorders. Andrea went on to become a Kindergarten teacher for two and half years, while conducting her own private reading tutoring services. As her goals shifted, she stepped into a middle and high school teacher role, instructing/mentoring students in the subjects of English/Language Arts, History, Philosophy, Cultural Geography, Wellness, Yoga and Positive Psychology. She started teaching yoga in 2022 at a local studio and does that alongside her academic endeavors.
Mission
Andrea's mission as an educator is to provide an inclusive learning environment for all students to reach their full potential. Guiding students through holistic, creative curriculum that is centered around their specific learning style, while providing them with the necessary skills to be inquisitive, lifelong learners.
Hobbies & Personal Life
Andrea moved from New York to Dallas, Texas in 2017 after graduating from SUNY Oswego. Outside of teaching academics full-time, Andrea teaches yoga while enjoying rock climbing, being a chef in the kitchen, being creative in artistic projects, and playing bass with her friends.
